Nearly every piece of technology employed today is an abstraction of some other technology, either generationally or through functional dependencies.  Everything from the interactive interface of Facebook, to the high-definition digital satellite provided television, all rely on a recursive series of fundamental technologies.

The quantum abstraction that modern digital technologies can be distilled into is simply represented as two characters, 1 and 0.  Even these two characters are simple abstractions of their physical world representation.
